Somalia election postponed to October from August

No reason has been given for the postponement of the much-anticipated Somalia elections. The electoral committee maintains all mechanisms are in place to ensure a free and fair vote takes place. However, it’s pointed out that the parliamentary selection process is time-consuming. Experts have warned the delay is a setback to political progress in the country.
