Somalia: Army Chief Escaped Heavy Road Explosion

Mogadishu (HAN) November 3rd, 2020. Regional Security and Stability. The heavy road bomb remotely controlled were targeted the convey of  Somali National Army (SNA) staff and its Commander-in-Chief General Odawa Yusuf Rage, who were touring the road link between Guri’eel and Dhusamareb (Galmudug State).
Meanwhile, the Somali National Army (SNA) has destroyed Al-Shabaab base in the outskirts of Mogadishu- Leego zone. There was a brief exchange of fire between the two sides, resulting in casualties on both Al-Shabaab terror group  and the SNA forces. SNA said the move will disrupt the Al-Shabaab’s capability to conduct new hit and run attacks within the Outskirts of Banadir and Merka regions. Since July, Al-Shabaab hit and run groups were ambushing military staff and  conducting ambushes and planting landmines to disrupt SNA movements in Southern Somalia.
