Hailemariam Says official Visit to Ghana Fruitful

ADDIS ABABA (HAN) April 11. 2016. Public Diplomacy & Regional Security NewsPrime Minister Hailemariam has said his official visit to Ghana was fruitful as the two nations have agreed to partner in various bilateral fields including in culture and tourism, communication, information and media and others.

President of the Republic of Ghana John Dramani Mahama for his part declared that the bilateral talks with the visiting Ethiopian Prime Minister were successful.

The two leaders held extensive discussions on issues such as terrorism, peace and security, agriculture, power and mining development.Ethiopia, Guinea discuss on ways of improved partnership

On the concluding day of Hailemariam’s official visit to Ghana, the Ghanaian President said his country is desirous to learn from Ethiopia’s experience in fighting terrorism.

President Mahama added Ghana will send security officials and others to Ethiopia to draw lessons from Ethiopia’s best experience in foiling acts of terrorism.

Ethiopia’s successful military campaign in Somalia and ensuring peace and stability at home sets a good example for other countries, Mahama said.

Ghana’s relation with Ethiopia is transforming to a new chapter, he confirmed, pointing out development, trade and investment as important future areas of engagement besides partnerships in peace and security.

Prime Minister Hailemariam, who was on official visit to Ghana, arrived in Guinea for a similar visit.

His stay in Guinea will include visits to different sites as well as signing of bilateral agreements.
