Ethiopia, Addis Ababa, October 8, 2020 -President Sahle-Work Zewde yesterday attended climate vulnerability forum hosted by Prime Minister of Bangladesh.
The leaders’ summit aims to galvanize support and commitment for world leaders on the ambitious and vital goal of meeting the “Survival Deadline”.
President Sahle-Work said “Time is not on our side. Countries need to ambitiously respond to the ‘Survival Deadline’ for humankind, December 2020.
“It marks a crucial deadline for responding to the gravity of the situations faced by more than 1 billion of the most vulnerable people living on the frontline of a worsening climate crisis.
“It also epitomizes our only chance to keep the 1.5 degrees Celsius goal of the Paris Agreement within reach.”
