Ethiopia, Korea sign over a dozen of cooperation Agreements

ADDIS ABABA (HAN) May 27.2016. Public Diplomacy & Regional Security News. Ethiopia and Korea signed cooperation agreements in a bid to boost partnerships on a wide range of sectors, on Thursday (May 27, 2016) at the National Palace, attended by Prime Hailmariam Dessalegn and President Park Geun-hye. Memorandum of Understanding to boost cooperation in the field of Information and Communication Technology was signed by Dr. Debretsion Gebremichael, Coordinator for Finance and Economic cluster with a Deputy-Prime Minister portfolio and Minister of communication and Information Technology and Yun Byung-se, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Korea. A series of other agreements and MoUs were also signed between Ethiopia and Korea.

These include: strengthening and boosting cooperation and partnerships in the areas of avoidance of double taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal evasion with Respect to taxes on Income; agreement concerning loans from the Economic Development cooperation fund for the Year 2016 through 2018; Agreement for Air service between and beyond their respective territories; MoU on cooperation in the field of transport; MoU on cooperation in the Area of Saemaeul Undong Project; MoU on cooperation and policy consultation; MOU on textile technology cooperation; MoU in the field of defense; MoU to cooperate in the field of forestry and climate change; MoU on cooperation in the fields of agriculture and rural development; Loan Agreement for Gore-Tepi Road improvement project; MoU on Grant Aid programs; MoU on cooperation in the field of health care and medical sciences.
