Ethiopia: Foreign Minister Tedros met Prince Saud Al-Faysal

Addis Ababa (HAN) May 3, 2014 – According to HAN & Geeska Afrika Online reporter in Addis Ababa , The Foreign Minister of Ethiopia, Dr.Tedros held a regional strategic meeting with the current Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, H.R.H Prince Saud Al-Faysal .

Foreign Minister Dr Tedros Adhanom held discussions on regional and bilateral issues with H.R.H Prince Saud Al-Faysal bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud, Foreign Minister of the Royal Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Jeddah Wednesday. H.R.H praised the long and historic relationship between the two regional power states (Horn of Africa nd the GCC- Gulf Cooperation Council) and noted that the continuing dialogue on bilateral, regional and global issues is a testament to the strong and longstanding relations on all aspects based on common values and interests.

H.R.H Prince Saud Al-Faysal of Saudi Arabia added that visits by high level governmental officials of the two countries depicts the existence of mutual interest between the two countries that work together closely in social, political and economic affairs. H.R.H Prince Al-Saud also expressed his honor to meet with H.E to discuss basic bilateral, regional and global issues that definitely gives crucial meaning to their two brother peoples.

Dr. Tedros on his side expressed his confidence that Ethiopia considers the Middle East region as its second neighbor. He noted that the longstanding bilateral relation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is always given prime focus by Ethiopia over several decades. The typical evidence for this, he said, is that Saudi Arabia is the first country with which Ethiopia established diplomatic relation in the Gulf region based on mutual trust and confidence.
Both Ministers of Ethiopia and the Kingdom of saudi Arabia agreed to have a framework agreement on political consultation, investment protection, on legal instrument to get loan from Saudi Fund labor agreement prior to their fourth joint ministerial commission to be held soon. In addition, they agreed to have a joint experts committee to study how to control illegal human trafficking together with other neighboring countries
