Ethio-telecom concludes agreement to Chinese Firm to build HQ

Addis Ababa (HAN) August 21.2016. Public Diplomacy & Regional Security News.  Ethio-telecom has signed an agreement today with the Chinese construction company, CGC Overseas Construction (CGCOC), to build headquarters (HQ) at a cost of over 4.5 billion birr.

The headquarters will rest on 37,000 square meters of land in the premises of Ethio-ICT village in Addis Ababa.

It will comprise a 14-floor five buildings with a height of 45 meters and a 10-metre underground extension each, it was noted.

The headquarters, capable of accommodating 5,000 employees, will be completed in three years time.

Dr Debretsion Gebremichael, Deputy Prime Minister for Finance and Economic Cluster and Minister of Communication and Information Technology, Mekuria Haile, Minister of Urban Development and Construction as well as other government officials attended the signing ceremony.
