Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom received Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moibi, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Botswana at his offices today (May 04, 2016). The two sides discussed on possible ways of expanding the level of cooperation between Ethiopia and Botswana. Dr. Tedros noted that the historic and substantive relations between the two countries should further be strengthened. The Minister said Ethiopia has a lot to learn from and share experience with Botswana, particularly in areas of health, youth empowerment and civil service operations. He also underscored the imperative of forging cooperation between Ethiopia and the Republic of Botswana in terms of upholding a common position on regional and global issues of mutual concern. Dr Pelonomi Venson-Moibi also emphasized on the need to strengthen the historic relationship between Ethiopia and the Republic of Botswana. While commending the solidarity that the Government of Ethiopia showed, the Minister expressed her government’s readiness to work with Ethiopia in the spirit of mutual cooperation.
