Djibouti: Expeditionary force tailored in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility

Djibouti (HAN) December 9, 2014 –  Regional defense and  Security news. Marines with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), offload equipment from CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 163 (Reinforced), 11th MEU, during sustainment training in D’Arta Plage, Djibouti. The Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) and the embarked 11th MEU provide a versatile, sea-based, expeditionary force that can be tailored to a variety of missions in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
