MOGADISHU (HAN) July 10.2016. Public Diplomacy & Regional Security News. BY:Mohamed Osman. Two suspects of the Al-qaeda linked group of Al-Shabaab were on Thursday captured after the Somali Police forces conducted an special operation at mosque in Yakhshid district north Mogadishu.
Police Commander of Benadir region, Mohamed Yusuf Nor told
Somali National News Agency that these two men hid pistols on the cliff tower of the mosque, saying they captured and recovered the weapon from there.
“Community members provided us information towards those Shabaab suspects, and then we conducted our operation inside a mosque in Yakshid and recovered the hidden guns on tower, and arrested them, investigation is under way”, Mr. Yusuf said.
Somali Police forces often carry out such operation to ensure the security and safety of the community in the region and this is their day activities.
