DAKAR (HAN) November 11, 2015. Public Diplomacy & regional Security. Senegal has been hosting the Second International Forum on Peace and Security in Africa to address the growing security threats in the region. Africa’s security environment has recently been characterized by issues raging from insurgencies, post-conflict stabilization to growing threats of violent extremism, and organized crime taking root in Africa’s urban slums.
A number of workshops have been dedicated to these alarming threats with a focus on the most concrete and operational aspects. The final conclusions and recommendations from the forums will be released on Wednesday. But before that, participants have been commenting on the security situation in Africa.
