Kiir, Machar hit stalemate over AU intervention force

South Sudan is standing firm on its refusal to allow a regional intervention force into the country. The proposal, tabled by the African Union, is a potential solution to avoiding further clashes between troops loyal to President Salva Kiir and vice his rival, Riek Machar. The AU is awaiting the green light from the United Nations Security Council.
