Ethiopia: Formation of Continental free trade area

Addis Ababa (HAN) December 14, 2014 – Public Diplomacy and Regional investment Security news. Ethiopian Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros Adhanom is attending a meeting of the Follow-Up Committee of Ministers on ‪#Agenda2063‬ ‪‎Bahirdar‬ Retreat in Johannesburg , South Africa.

The follow up of high level ministerial committee of the implementation of BahirDar Retreat discussing key integration infrastructure projects , formation of Continental free trade area, alternative sources of financing for the African Union and other agenda items within the broader agenda of building peaceful ,integrated and prosperous Africa as envisaged in Agenda 2063.

The 34th Session of the SADC Summit has ended in Zimbabwe with a call to speedily complete negotiations of the Tripartite Free Trade Area in order to pave way for the Continental Free Trade Area. Africa aims to establish a continent-wide free trade area by 2017 and regional trade arrangements like the Tripartite Free Trade Area.For more on this we are joined by Economist Peter Karungu.
