Ethiopia: Netanyahu Visit Will Bolster Ethiopia Relations

ADDIS ABABA (HAN) June 13.2016. Public Diplomacy & Regional Security News. Israeli Ambassador to Ethiopia said the visit of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Ethiopia will have significant contribution to further strengthen relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Belaynesh Zevadia told ENA that the visit would advance the long-sanding relations between the countries in trade and investment.

Netanyahu’s visit to Ethiopia is the first by an Israeli leader, according to the Ambassador. He will be accompanied by large Israeli trade and investment delegation, she added.

“This will create an opportunity to further bolster the cultural, historical, trade and investment ties between the two countries.”

Ambassador Zevadia, who pointed out that Ethiopia is a strategic partner to Israel, stated that the visit will strengthen their relation.

The ambassador revealed that the embassy here has been exerting efforts to make businesspersons in the agriculture, science and technology, health, flower, and other sectors invest in Ethiopia.

The visit will help Israel, a country registering rapid growth in science and technology, modern agriculture and drip technology, share its experiences to Ethiopia.

Ambassador Zevadia recalled that there are over 140,000 Israelis of Ethiopian origin that follow and are pleased to see the day-to-day growth, peace and security of Ethiopia.

Middle East Affairs Director-General with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Siraj Reshid also said the visit of the Israeli Prime Minister will strengthen economic cooperation between the countries.

Some 40 huge transnational companies are expected to accompany Prime Minister Netanyahu, he added.

According to him, the leaders of the two countries are expected to discuss ways of bolstering trade and investment, regional and international issues.
