Planning minister voices Jordan’s readiness to support development in Somalia

MOGADISHU (HAN) May 27.2016. Public Diplomacy & Regional Security News. Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Imad Fakhoury voiced Jordan’s readiness to provide all forms of support to development efforts in Somalia.

A statement by the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation said that Fakhoury met with his Somali counterpart Abdirahman Ali Aynte on the sidelines of the 2nd meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Planning Institute in Amman during which they discussed scopes of cooperation between the two countries.

Fakhoury briefed the Somali minister on economic developments in Jordan as well as efforts being exerted by the Kingdom to address regional and social challenges due to the current situation in the region.

Aynte praised Jordan’s efforts to address economic and financial challenges as well as achievements made under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II despite regional instability.

The Somali minister also expressed his country’s desire to benefit from Jordan’s expertise in the fields of statistics and energy, and form a joint committee to discuss cooperation in various domains.
