Somalia: The secret talks between Ethiopia, Sheikh sharif in Yemen
Djibouti (HAN) May 30th, 2008  - The HAN & Geeska Afrika Online reporter in Sana'a, Yemen had learned that a new details of the Ethiopian efforts to reach out to the Islamic courts leaders specially Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmad and his group, including secret face-to-face meetings with a two members of Al-shabab in Mogadishu which bragged about multiple attacks on the Ethiopian forces daily in Southern Somalia.
The Sheikh Sharif Group, Islamist insurgents who have bragged of repeated attacks on Ethiopian military bases in Mogadishu. "Yes we are talking to them," a source familiar with the diplomatic efforts in Yemen told HAN's reporter in Mogadishu.

The Ethiopian Military commander in Mogadishu, Atto Gen. Gabre has a high hopes this tactic used by the Ethiopian Diplomacy and Yemeni officials will be effective.

The US intelligence in Djibouti and Yemen are also involved in the effort, identifying Acceptable Somali Islamist leaders and bringing them in for talks with the regional security and stability strategy to find a final solution to the Somali crisis. That effort has stretched to relatively Yemeni leaders have been given the authority to negotiate directly with the islamist leaders.

So far, the Yemeni talks have not included anyone tied to Al-Shabab, such as Dahir Aways and his close group based in Asamara. A Senior Diplomat tald Geeska afrika Online that. The Somali Islimist leaders from the Somalia's Reliberation of Somalia group led by Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed have landed at Yemeni capital's international airport later Tuesday-officials said.

These leaders are including the chairman Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed the information secretary Ahmed Abdulahi and other members of Asmara based ARS group. The foreign secretary of ARS Dr. Adow was previously in Yemen.

A high ranking officials of Yemeni government have welcomed the delegates at the airport and they met with officials of the government including Ali Abdulla Salah.

Some sources close to those members left in Sana told reporters that they've arrived in Yemen for two days invitation talks from Yemen government to facilitate a secret talks between ARS and High ranking Ethiopian Officials secret arrived in Yemen.
