Somalia: Prime Minister Postpones Much Trip To Puntland

Mogadishu (HAN) November 29, 2015 – Public Diplomacy and Regional Stability Initiatives News. Prime Minister of the Federal Government of Somalia, Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke who was scheduled to arrive in Puntland has postponed his much anticipated trip to Northern Galkayo on Thursday, Garowe Online reports.

Sharmarke has skipped today’s visit after Puntland President Abdiweli Mohamed Ali said, security arrangements and Prime Minister’s amenities couldn’t be deemed ‘proper’ sufficiently at due day. Ali reportedly came to loggerheads with Sharmarke over plans to put Galkayo crisis to an end.

Galmudug, on its side threatened they might have turned back on the prime minister endeavor, had he prioritized Puntland trip. The visit postponed to unspecified date follows deadly Galkayo clashes last Sunday.
