In his remarks, the Commissioner of the Somali Police Force Maj. Gen. Mohamed Sheikh Hamud said if adopted, the new policing model will enhance national and regional peace.

“Our main concern is the stability of Somalia, as it contributes to the stability of East Africa, Africa and the whole world. The world has only one enemy and that is the terrorists. So while we are dealing with our own domestic problem, we are also sharing the same plight with our international partners and neighbouring countries. So what we want for Somalia, is to have one police force, integrated, coordinated and under one command,” said Maj. Gen Mohamed Sheikh Hamud.
