Eritrea: Strengthening Nation Building to Reinforce the Staunch Resistance

Washington (HAN) September 4, 2014 – Eritrean Diaspora community events. This year,  2014 East Coast Eritrean Festival celebrated in the Washington DC metro area,  while Eritrean diaspora are also celebrating festivals in various places throughout the Globe.

The 10th Eritrean annual YPFDJ and PFDJ II conference in North America was conducted from August 28 to September 1 in Washington DC.

In a teleconference message he conveyed, Mr. Yemene Gebreab, Head of Political Affairs at the PFDJ, underlined the significance of assessing the past experience of the Front and thereby strengthening the nation-building process and reinforcing the staunch resistance. He further stressed the need to strengthen organizations both in quantity and quality.

Similarly, Mr. Birhane Gebrehiwet, Charge de’ Affairs of the Eritrean Embassy in the US, said that the conference attests to the readiness of Eritrean youths everywhere to face any challenge along with the people and its vanguard political organization.

Likewise, Mr. Dawit Haile, Head of youth and organizational affairs at the Embassy, stated that the organization of youths keeps on registering strengthens, and thus making the necessary input in the implementation of national development programs.

Moreover, the conference witnessed the staging of lectures by Eritrean intellectuals regarding the significance of reinforcing national identity and values, among others. American friends of Eritrea on their part commended the persistent struggle of the people and Government of Eritrea to ensure respect of national sovereignty and independent political path.

The participants of the conference adopted a 13-point resolution aimed at ensuring organizational capacity and State affairs.

    Are we building a nation which is not visible for the rest of the world including for us Eritreans?.
    The tyrant and his few supporters talk a lot about nation building and self reliance but after 24 years the only thing clearly visible in Eritrea is, lack of basic services, lack of freedom, lack of justice and lack of basic rights. But lets be fair the tyrant should be credited for making all our people equal by making everybody equally poor.
    It is unbelievable still some of our Eritrean brothers and sisters are living in the la la world of delusion. After 23 years of jailing, killing, torturing our peace loving people and converting our beautiful Eritrea into hell on earth, still some of you think the dictator ISAYAS will change course and build our country.
    The reality is our smartest and brightest tegadelti who spear headed and led our fight for freedom and who had a strategic plan and knowledge to build our nation, systematically and methodically eliminated by the tyrant. On the early stages of our freedom the tyrant had all our support, and his decisions was making a lot of sense because he was surrounded by very smart and knowledgeable Eritrean consultants who had a vision of building a vibrant democratic new nation and he was just a figure head. The moment he eliminated our brightest Eritreans look the failed path he is following, isolated from the world, hated by his people, failed economy, demoralized army and failed policies. The dictator Isayas’s knowledge and plan is limited to how to stay in power at what ever cost.

    Some of You waste several hours of your time defending a narcissist unelected, self appointed criminal junta which was supposed to be in power just for a maximum of a year or two and transfer power to its rightful owners (Eritrean people) but instead still clinging to power for the past 24 years by intimidation, manipulation, torture and killing. (shame)
    1-When was the last time Eritreans elected our representative?. (Never)
    2-As Eritreans do we have any bill of rights?. Can a corrupted official throw me in jail without due process, because he or she does not like me? (Yes thousands of our brothers and sisters are in jail and never ever been to court)
    3- As an Eritrean can I follow a faith of my choice? Can I speak freely? Can I write freely? (The answer is obviously clear and it is NO, NO, NO). As some of you supporters claim if the dictator has the truth on his side, what is he afraid of, and why is he trying to muzzle everybody.
    4-In Eritrea do we have city law, state law, and constitutional law that protects our individual rights and a law that governs us. (NO, the maniac dictator is the law, legislator, judge and the executive).

    It is obvious Eritrea cannot be a prosperous democratic country overnight but it is 24 years overdue to start the foundation of a democratic process.
    By now…..
    1- We should have our constitution in place. (Not a hashish and alcohol addict’s common sense)
    2- We should have elected officials (Not a narcissist evil one man show).

    Do not get it confused, a stand against a tyrant dictator (ISAYAS)and his failed policies is NOT a stand against Eritrea and its people, rather it is completely the opposite, it is a firm stand in support of Eritrean people and our country. BROTHERS AND SISTERS KEEPERS.

    Long time ago in 1775 during the American Revolution a very courageous legislator from Virginia by the name of Patrick Henry made this powerful speech and I take it to heart. Here is part of his speech.

    ” Why stand we here idle? What is it that gentlemen wish? What would they have? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, GIVE ME LIBERITY OR GIVE ME DEATH!” Patrick Henry –

    “We don’t look to Africa simply for its natural resources. We recognize Africa for its greatest resource which is its people and its talents and its potential,” President Obama.
