Somalia: Turkish Assessing Jubbaland rebuilding efforts in Kismayo

Kismayo (HAN) September 3, 2014 – Regional reconstruction and development news. Turkish delegation led by the VP of Jubbaland State of Somalia Abdulkadir Lugadheere are Assessing Kismayo’s seaport planning & inland infrastructure to satisfy the needs of shipping services and free zone requirements as well, with TIKA & Kizilay’s Coordinators & Jubbaland State Authorities.

According to Geeska Afrika Online sources, the port reconstruction and other major infrastructure assessment by Turkish delegation, chaired by The Ministry of Turkish Foreign Affairs with the participation of the new Jubbaland re-construction fund, underscores the complexities involved in an overall reconstruction program for Kismayo, which some Somali diaspora officials have estimated could cost in excess of $1 billion.
