Should Tech Firms in Africa Pay People for Their Data?

Nairobi (HAN) December 4th, 2019. Global Digital Initiatives to counter poverty and terror. Pay-for-data arrangements promise to reduce exploitation and encourage firms to be more selective about the data they gather in Africa. The SIRAD institute to empower African Statecraft  argues that we should consider the possibility that being paid for data undermines, rather than enhances, human dignity by further commodifying our lives.

It focuses on educating African youth and other African business firms on the challenges and opportunities to be gained by their drafting appropriate plans and policies for the 21st century Industrial digital revolution.
