Ethiopian Leaders Promises to support Somalia for Peaceful Governance

Addis Ababa (HAN) Addis Ababa (HAN) May 6th, 2017 Public Diplomacy & Regional Security this week for Stability. Ethiopia assures peace and security in Somalia. The president of Somalia has formally welcomed Ethiopian National Defense Forces into the peacekeeping mission in southern Somalia.

In addis Ababa, with President Farmaajo, the Ethiopian government has promised support assuring peaceful governance in central Somalia.

according to Geeska Afrika Online reporter in Addis Ababa, “though much of the country is still under the control of Islamist militant group Al-Shabaab, especially after the withdrawal of the Ethiopian military, the Ethiopian government seems to be committed to working towards building a peaceful Somalia.”

During an official visit this week, the Somali Presdient Mohamad Abdullahi Farmaajo met Ethiopian officials, including  Foreign Affairs Minister Workineh Gebeyehu.

Ministry of foreign affairs spokesperson Tewolde Mulgeta, who attended the leaders discussions, said Hailemariam assured Farmaajo of Ethiopia’s readiness to offer capacity building support in addition to ensuring peace during the security reform and operations against Al-shabaab this season.
