Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros held discussion with Ms. Katrina Gould, Canada’s Parliamentarian Secretary to the Ministry of International Development at his offices today(August 29, 2016).
Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between Canada and Ethiopia in the sectors of peace, security and development.
Welcoming the delegation, Foreign Minister Dr. Tedros said Ethiopia and Canada have enjoyed a strong and historic relationship. He noted the relationship between the two friendly countries should further be bolstered.
The Foreign Minister also shared Ethiopia fast rated development, and in such score, he praised the partnership between Ethiopia and Canada, and particularly commended the cooperation in the development sector.
Ms. Katrina Gould on her part hailed the longstanding relationship between Ethiopia and Canada. She praised Ethiopia’s government efforts in the education and health sectors and other frontiers. She further noted Ethiopia has managed to be a sea of stability in a hostile region.
The two countries will expand the bilateral cooperation in the years ahead, she added. Ms. Katrina Gould then invited the Government of Ethiopia to attend the Canada-Africa Investment Summit due to unfold in Toronto, Canada in November 2016.
