When asked if things could get worse, the president said it depends on how much regional cooperation Somalia could achieve. President Hassan said cooperation with neighboring countries was also crucial to maintain security and trade movements. “Sovereignty of Somalia must be accepted categorically by neighboring countries so that we can move forward.”
