IGAD Condemns Al Shabaab Attack, Mourns Loss of State Minister Hamza

Addis Ababa (HAN) June 27.2016. Public Diplomacy & Regional Security News. The Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) has condemned the terror attack carried out by Al Shabaab on June 25, 2016 at the Nasa Hablod Hotel in which innocent people lost their lives.

It condemned in the strongest words possible the senseless violence incurred by this desperate group which has no respect for human life, according to the press release of IGAD.

IGAD offers its heartfelt condolences to the Government and people of Somalia and to the families who lost their loved ones, it said, wishing speedy recovery to those who were injured in the attack.

IGAD also mourns the loss of the State Minister of Environment of Somalia, Buri Hamza, a man of great knowledge and insight who was among the victims, depriving the IGAD region of one of its finest sons, the releases stated.

The authority concluded that it is obvious from the Somali people’s determination to rebuild their homeland that Al Shahab’s atrocities cannot intimidate their indomitable spirit as they are equipped with boundless optimism and a great capacity for hard work.
