Broadcast Authority Warns local broadcasting media outlets

ADDIS ABABA (HAN) April 11. 2016. Public Diplomacy & Regional Security NewsThe Ethiopian Broadcast Authority (EBA) sent a warning letter concerning brewery advertisements and sponsor credit to five broadcasting media outlets, local newspaper reported.
According to Fortune, Ethiopia’s local English weekly, the giant state-owned Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC), Sheger FM and Bisrat FM are among the list of those media outlets who received EBA’s warning letter.

The letter was quoted by the newspaper as saying “metta leanbesochu is alluring for children, but not the targeted adults…Habesha and Walia beer’s advertisements on the other hand have associated their brands with the essence of “Ethiopianess”, misrepresenting the diverse society”
