Ethiopia: Foreign Minister Tedros Engaged in a Global Debate

ADDIS ABABA (HAN) November 22, 2015 – Public Diplomacy and Regional Stability News. Ethiopia’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Tedros takes part on a debate around the theme: “Is democracy getting in the way of development?” The debate was organized by the African Report Magazine in partnership with Mo Ibrahim Foundation.

Dr. Tedros stressed the need for both democracy and development. He noted that Ethiopia is trying to achieve its twin objective of sustainable development and the prevalence of democracy. On the heated debate held at the Ghanaian Capital Accra on “Democracy and Development,” Dr. Tedros further said: “we don’t succumb to this chicken and egg argument”. MFA
